The Scrapbooks of Willis B. Haviland

An Earlybird's Scrapbook

The Lafayette Escadrille

Book One, Page Five, Top

Top - Aux Avions Barrois (Barrois barracks)
Over the main entrance is written "Ferme Sainte Catherine/Aux Avions Barrois". Over the small door to the left is "buvette" (refreshment room). Between is what looks like a billboard, possibly for a provider of oil: "Toujours partout" (Allways everywhere), then some indistinguishable writing, below which appears "A.Oberlaender Sr, 77 Bd. de la Rochelle/Bar-le-Duc."

Center and Bottom - Raoul Lufbery
The aircraft is his Nieuport 11, SFA No. 1256
